The three described programmes
Super Bright
IPL aimed at redness, dark marks and a brighter look. The light stays shallow, so it is chosen when a deeper treatment that could thin the skin is not wanted. It suits someone who wants a fresher face, and scars or acne marks less than 6 months old.
Every 2 weeks. The clinic says brightness and fading can start within 7 days of the first visit, and look clearer after about 4 regular sessions.
Use sunscreen and moisturiser. Avoid strong sun, such as the beach or golf, for 3 days. After brightening laser, avoid the sun for at least a week. Not used in pregnancy.
Spot removal
A Q-switch laser imported from Italy, aimed at dark marks and scars, including acne scars, and at collagen. Every 2 weeks, on a similar rhythm: a change may start within 7 days, and look clearer around 4 sessions. Some people are advised to have 4–5 sessions in a row.
Sunscreen and moisturiser, and 3 days away from strong sun. Not in pregnancy. Not advised for melasma, freckles, or people often in strong sun, because that skin is often already thin and this laser can thin it further and darken the marks.
Unclouded Hair
Size S is a moustache, beard or facial hair. Size M is the face, an underarm, one arm or one leg. The aims are less hair, fewer ingrown hairs and tighter pores. The reduction is not permanent.
Every 3–4 weeks, or when hair is about 1 mm. Some hairs shed at once, others weaken and shed in 4–5 days. After about 5–8 consecutive sessions the amount and thickness may fall. Dense, coarse hair needs more visits.
Years later, around 3–4, hair can return because the cells are still active, usually not as thick or dark. Shave 3 days before, or pluck 7 days before, leaving about 1 mm of root. Stop whitening products and roll-on deodorant for 3 days.
Other laser programmes
The clinic also offers Deep Down, Deep Plus, Deep Plus Mini and tattoo removal. Ask the doctor about the steps and which programmes are currently available during your consultation.
Questions
Can I have laser while pregnant?
Brightening laser, Q-switch and these treatments are not recommended in pregnancy.
Is Q-switch used on melasma?
It is not recommended. Skin with melasma or freckles, especially if it sees a lot of sun, is often already thin. This laser can thin it further and darken the marks.
Is hair removal permanent?
No. The clinic says hair may return after 3–4 years, often finer than before. Response varies.
